A registered trade mark of Invista, formerly Dupont, lycra or spandex suits is a stretchy and forgiving fiber. This is a popular synthetic fiber and is used throughout the world by many designers and clothing manufactures. Manufactures use lycra and spandex in blends that include cotton, silk, and synthetic fibers.
This fiber was developed by DuPont in 1958 to be used as an alternative to rubber that was then being used in corsets. Lycra and spandex is the synthetic competitor to rubber due to its stronger and more durable nature. Unlike rubber, this fiber is more resistant to detergents, lotions, and sweat. Polymer chains help lycra to have its rigid and flexible portions, yet the fibers are able to stretch and retain it shape.
Lycra suit and spandex can stretch several times its size and has the ability to return back to its original shape. The advantages of using lycra and spandex in clothing are its lightweight, comfortable, and breathable properties. Due to the close fitting nature of the fiber, it is often used in women's clothing more so then in men's clothing. Lycra can also be found in plus-sized clothing and children's clothing.
More advantages are that is quick to dry, moisture wicking, and is easily to dye. Lycra and spandex is used in garments due to its bacteria resistant nature, blocks ultraviolet rays, and holds up well to chlorine. There is minimal pilling and static cling with this fiber. Lycra has also been used in the manufacturing of diapers, bike seats, and bed sheets. Types of garments that are made using lycra and spandex are socks, lingerie, exercise clothing, swimwear, and leggings.
The movie industry uses lycra for superhero costumes such as the Superman, Batman, and Captain America movies. Due to its tight fitting fiber and its ability to hold bright solid colors, it was the choice fiber when creating these costumes. With the emergence of rock and heavy metal bands in the 1970s and 1980s, lycra bodysuits and spandex gained popularity with the rise in popularity of spandex leggings.

The name, zentai suit, was first born in 1886. In the early 20th century, zentai suits began to be applied in the circus and acrobatics for the performers.
In1920-1930, zentai costume gradually became the style of bathing suit, From that time, women's full-body swimwear has been in use to this day. To Tell Parents about Zentai Suit or not
From 1886, the zentai suit was born. There has been a process that lycra suits is accepted by more and more people.
At the beginning, tights are used for actors and athletes, and they were named special clothes, but with social development and more and more people’s hobby, lycra bodysuits become used widely. So we call it a process, which needs a long time. However, a part of people are still not easy to accept it, specially for women and elder people. So there is a problem for some zentai owners, which is to tell their parents about it or not. How do you think about it?
I think there are two sides:
Firstly, if you want your parents to share your hobby, and you can make sure they will show understanding, you can do it. If not, you will bring inconvenience to yourself, even you will have to give up the hobby for your parents, of course, you must choose your parents between them. So you need to consider about whether you want to share with them. I think, you should make sure that your parents are enlightened, if your parents are like this, I will congratulate with you, they do support you. If there is a possibility, they will try it too. So before you do, you should consider about the above two points.
Secondly, if you don not want to share it with your parents, then we get a answer quickly, and that is not to tell your parent. In common, for the people do not want to share with others, they just share it with themselves, and they look it as their privacy. Maybe they can find a intimate friend to share. Besides, your parents are not enlightened, or they are not easy to accept new things, you had better give up the idea. There are some parents are conservative, or spoil their children, they will stop their special hobby, because they feel it is a bad fetish.
So, for telling your parents about your first zentai suit or not, there are two sides to analyze and decide. However, as a zentai costumes fan, we hope everybody will understand. In fact, we love it as our skirt, which make us more beautiful, and make our hero dream come true in one moment.
